About

Jamie Oh Yoo, M.Div.

I'm a counselor based in Manhattan, and work with individuals, couples, and families in NYC and beyond. With an M.Div. in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and training at Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation, my counseling distinctives and model of care grow out of theological convictions. I have a holistic approach to counseling, seeking to establish a context where people can flourish in mind, body, and spirit. I partner with my counselees in their journey of seeking healing, restoration, and change.

Background

Education. Through incredible educational opportunities, I became a life-long student of the humanities at an early age. I continued to nurture my passion in peoples and cultures at Barnard College, Columbia University (New York, NY), and focused on East Asian Studies, Human Rights, and Spanish language and culture.

Counseling. I completed my M.Div. in Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary (Glenside, PA), and served in pastoral counseling for seven years. I was vocationally trained as a biblical counselor at Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation under the supervision and mentorship of the late Dr. David Powlison, and was later hired to join CCEF's extraordinary team of counselors. I have also been serving as an Online Recitation Instructor for CCEF's School of Biblical Counseling for the past six years.

Ministry. I have twelve years of ministry experience in the US and internationally, working in various ministry contexts such as children & youth, discipleship, community care, and prayer. Previously, I helped plant a church in Sydney, Australia alongside my husband for several years. I have served as a pastoral counselor and taught seminars on counseling topics at various churches.

Corporate. I have five years of experience in project management, product development, and business operations across Commercial Real Estate, Management Consulting, and FinTech.
